A Bald Eagle Wins the 2025 Creativity Competition for Apprentices

2025 suissetec Congress: In the Animal Kingdom

Suissetec congress 2025 creative competition
This is what winners look like: Marco Martin Schuler with his “Bald Eagle”.

King of the Beasts? A bald eagle – at least at this year’s suissetec Congress in Biel. Marco Martin Schuler impressed the judges with his entry and won the Creativity Competition for metalworker apprentices.

Every year, up-and-coming metalworkers put their skills to the test in the suissetec Creativity Competition. Apprentices must design and build a piece, whether a practical object, a picture, or a sculpture, using at least two different types of sheet metal. This year, participants brought the theme “Into the Animal Kingdom” to life with creative flair and technical precision, all within a 100-hour work limit.

Soaring High with America’s National Symbol

Marco Martin Schuler was no doubt flying high when he was named winner of the Creativity Competition on 20 June in Biel for his entry. With his piece, “Bald Eagle”, the aspiring metalworker from Zurich stood out against strong competition – and was awarded a prize of CHF 1,700.
