Debrunner Acifer Trophy 2020

Catering specialist wins title of Swiss vocational champion

Debrunner Acifer Trophy 2020
Best apprentice in Switzerland: Shania Colombo, catering specialist EFZ, has impressed the jury at the SwissSkills Championships, the Swiss vocational competition 2020.

At this year’s SwissSkills Championships, 18-year-old Shania Colombo not only earned first place among the catering specialists with 84.19 points. She also bested all the other Swiss vocational champions to win the Debrunner Acifer Trophy: a Ford Puma Hybrid put at her free disposal for one year by Debrunner Acifer.

Shania Colombo did her apprenticeship at the Restaurant Hof zu Wil. She earned the title of best apprentice in Switzerland by impressing the jury at the SwissSkills Championships, the Swiss vocational competition. The catering specialist EFZ was the winner not only in her own field, but with 84.19 points out of 100 also scored better than any other competitor at the championships – which were held in 60 different occupations in 2020.

As the Swiss vocational champion with the highest score, the young catering specialist from Münchwilen TG was also awarded the Debrunner Acifer Trophy, in keeping with tradition. “I knew nothing about this prize,” she says, and is all the more delighted. On 11 December, Armin Lutz, Head of Marketing & Communication at the Debrunner Koenig Group, presented her with her trophy in the form of a Ford Puma Hybrid at the Debrunner Acifer tradesperson’s centre in St. Gallen. “As a SwissSkills Gold Partner, we recognise outstanding results achieved by talented apprentices with our Debrunner Acifer Trophy. This is a great way to motivate young people to give their all,” says Armin Lutz.

For 15 years now, the Debrunner Acifer Trophy has honoured top performance by Swiss apprentices by offering the SwissSkills champion free use of a car for one year.
