Nils Klopfenstein from Urtenen-Schönbühl has won the Debrunner Acifer Trophy as best Swiss professional master craftsperson of 2019. The young plumber collected a Ford Puma from the headquarters of his former training company and current employer, the company Jost Spenglertechnik in Bern. Nils can use the car, provided by Debrunner Acifer for one year.

Originally the car was to be presented as a surprise and the emotional finale of the SwissSkills Summit, which was to have taken place on 2 April. The Ford Puma provided by Debrunner Acifer was eventually handed over to the winner a good one month later – and, due to corona, with slightly less ceremony than Nils deserved for his excellent performance during last year’s Swiss Skills Championships 2019.

The Swiss Skills Championships took place in 18 occupations spread throughout 2019. Nils Klopfenstein clocked up so many points in the plumber competition at the Schaffhausen trade fair at the end of October that he was named ‘best’ Swiss Master Craftsperson of 2019.

Debrunner Acifer has been awarding the annual Debrunner Acifer Trophy for the best Swiss master craftsperson since 2005, the prize being the free use of a car for one year.

“This trophy shows me that it’s worth working hard at your job and to really power ahead with your career” says a happy Nils Klopfenstein. “I’m so delighted to be driving around in the Swiss master car.” “With this award, we want to emphasise our appreciation for the good work of the winner”, says Armin Lutz, Head of Marketing & Communications at Debrunner Koenig. “At the same time, we are increasing public awareness and recognition of the hard work young talent is putting in”.
